這些刪減內容包括從未在正式遊戲中出現過，或只在 beta 版本以及官方圖透中出現（甚至是從未公開的素材），但最終被去除的部分。

護符

在 Kickstarter 的一次更新上（2016年2月23日）首次透露了護符系統，這次圖透中的一些護符可以在遊戲中見到，另一些則沒有被使用，有的甚至未正式命名。

部分未被使用的護符出現在了成就圖標上。

早期透露的護符

	貪婪無度（玻璃）（Unending Greed (Glass)）	「它能夠讓被擊敗的敵人掉落更多的吉歐，但如果死亡時正好裝備了該護符，那麼它會破碎。使用時請小心，不要讓貪婪蒙蔽了雙眼！」
	記仇蟲群（Vengeful Swarm）	「受傷時自動生成憤怒的蟲群，攻擊離自己最近的敵人。」
	（從外表上看與喬尼的祝福以及生命血核心和生命血之心很相似。）
	（可能是易碎心臟的早期版本，外表是堅固心臟的冷色調。）
	（早期的衝刺大師，有着非常暗淡的色調。）

未知護符

以下護符可以在公開的素材包（谷歌雲盤）中找到，它們的命名也大多是「普通護符（Generic_Charm）」。

但其中從右數起第二個護符的名稱為「揭示隱藏（Charm_Wall_Reveal）」，推測該護符可以用來標記可被擊破的牆壁和地面。

從未在任何版本中出現的蜈蚣樣生物 Blundering Oberlisk。

最後它並沒有出現在遊戲中，但文件里仍然有蜘蛛的圖標和立繪。

蘑菇 NPC

只在預告片 A Weird And Wonderful World 中出現的蘑菇戰士，它手杖的頂部插着一個光籽。

飛蠅 NPC

這隻有點像格魯茲的蒼蠅樣NPC從來沒有在這兩張未公開的圖以外的任何地方出現過。

巨型蜘蛛

無法確定是 Boss 還是 NPC 的巨型蜘蛛。同樣只在 A Weird And Wonderful World 中出現過一次。它似乎並不在深巢內，且出現時間比揭示深邃巢穴的時間更早。

白色騎士

與白色騎士決鬥^[4]

白色騎士是聖巢五騎士之一，王后花園的守護者。王后的失蹤以及愈發瘋狂的植被幾乎要將她逼瘋，但她不忘自己的使命，要求與小騎士進行公平對決：一場骨釘對骨釘的殊死決鬥。
最終這場戰鬥被刪去，但小騎士仍然可以在白色夫人的隱居處找到她的屍體。

國王魔像和灰燼騎士

白色宮殿原本有2個Boss：國王魔像和灰燼騎士。^[5]
- Ari Gibson：「白色宮殿裡面的第二個Boss我不記得了？我知道國王傀儡（魔像）是一個。」^[6]
- William Pellen：「我覺得其實國王傀儡就是它們倆的結合體。」^[7]

蟻族

William Pellen：「螞蟻很酷，你還可以和它們進行很多有趣的互動。它們為骨之森林而生，所以在基礎遊戲中你不會見到它們，不過可能會在未來的更新中遇到？」^[8]

深淵 Boss

Kickstarter 眾籌中的一個額外目標是「暗影之畔的照明」，包括點亮深淵中的燈塔並面對另一個 Boss。^[9]
Team Cherry 在推特上也發布了一張深淵 Boss 的草稿^[10]。不過雖然點亮燈塔的任務最後加進了遊戲中，但深淵 Boss 卻一直沒能現身。

操作

後撤

與衝刺相似的後撤動作，只不過方向向後，且距離比較短。^[11]
據說是因為「比起它的方便之處，這個動作反而減少了戰鬥的靈活性」，並且與衝刺幾乎毫無差別（除了方向和距離）而去除了。
文件中仍然能找到「canbackdash」的參數，參數值默認為0。不過將這個值變為其他任何數字都不會有任何效果。

游泳

允許小騎士潛水的游泳動作，似乎是伊斯瑪的眼淚的原型。
遊戲文件中還有一個未使用的房間設計，其中需要游泳才能到達烏恩所在的場景。

潛入夢境

原本的夢之釘允許小騎士進入蟲子們的夢境（現在只能讀取他們的內心）：「在你探索聖巢的途中，你會遇到一個古老而奇異的神器——夢之釘，藉助夢之釘，你可以潛入蟲子們的意識中，並來到他們的夢之井。那裡承載了一隻蟲的所有的希望、恐懼以及秘密。接近夢之核心的路上，許多挑戰接踵而至。然而你只需要堅持，就能發現獨一無二的寶藏，揭示無人知曉的秘密。每隻蟲的夢境與其個性相聯繫，你甚至可能會發現那些他們試圖隱藏的秘密。而這些夢境旅程中的挑戰可能會是面對一群在空中飛舞的夢魘，或者要求你不使用骨釘就擊敗敵人。夢之釘還擁有其他的隱藏用途，如果你足夠好奇，那麼聖巢最詭秘之處的夢境也無處可藏。」^[12]
Ari：我們用完整的夢境系統測試過（每位NPC的不同夢境等級！），但最後它們各自之間顯得很不連貫，而且分散了這個遊戲的重心即探索聖巢。我們用這些製作夢境等級的時間去完善、充實了聖巢世界。^[13]

Must've imagined it. I do tend to visualise new combatant's meeting their end. It's good training for the mind, especially whilst your movement's somewhat limited.

If you do meet my fellows down there you might remind them of their poor Elder, up here, back aching, abandoned to his lonesome vigil.
Poor poor me!... Oh I'm fine, really, but a bit of guilt might go some way in persuading their return. Assuming they're still alive that is.
There's something strange about you. I've seen all types pass below, but you... You're almost familiar, though I'm sure we've never met before.

Bretta White Saviour: To obscure the knight's gender in this instance, White Prince should probably be replaced with White Saviour.
British to American English: Hollow Knight uses British English. Run a spell check. Channelled, not Channeled.

Crown: can be a crown as in the top of a head, but not a separate object.
Day, today: remove anything this specific about time.
Dressed: check for it. can be used in special instances, but not a common word.
Elipses: … in hollow knight never has a space afterwards. The next words follow directly after the final . eg: I know…but.

Eyes: can be used, but check carefully, many of the bugs may not have eyes, rather just sockety things.
Feet: these may not exist at all?
Gender notes: the hollow knights have no gender. Check for hims and hes. Is the Wyrm King gendered? probably. or is it that when the wyrm took king form it gained a gender?Hornet is the Gendered Child. She can be referred to as female.
Geo: is Geo capitalised? Should it be?
God: perhaps in special instance? though usually the god-like creatures are higher beings.

I guess so he could rule Hallownest with his singular vision, as a monarch/god with no other gods. The moths sealed Radiance away by forgetting about her. Hallownest was born and flourished. However, the memory of Radiance lingered (eg the statue at hallownest's crown) and soon she began to reappear in dreams and starting exerting influence. The King and the bugs of hallownest resisted this memory/power and it started to manifest as the infection. Thus the first attempt to seal Radiance failed, and the King had to try another method - the Vessel.

蝸牛村

蝸牛村莊在 A Weird And Wonderful World 中出現過，現在依然可以在遊戲文件中找到一些相關素材。
Ari Gibson：「蝸牛實在是太大了！大概一直以來我們都把它給忘了？現在看回來，它甚至比正式遊戲的風格顯得更卡通化一些。不過你可以把王國邊緣的巴東看作是最終版本的蝸牛。」^[14]
William Pellen：「很遺憾，蝸牛村已經不在了。我們把它放進了像素粉碎機裡頭，再把剩下的混合圖像用來給遊戲中的一些場景鋪路。」^[15]

聖地神廟

聖地（Holy Grounds）坐落於骨之森林最深處，這座曾經的神廟如今已被占領。^[16]
William Pellen：「右邊最遠處是一個上鎖的大門，擊敗兩個熔岩蟲精英怪後才能點燃火炬並打開大門。其中一名守夢者就在這裡面……我覺得最初赫拉是在這裡的吧？」^[17]

骨之森林

Forest of Bone

「骨之森林比我們之前放出的區域都要更加深入遊戲，所以我們不會劇透太多！不過我們能肯定的是它絕對是非常大的一個區域，有數不清的路線和隱藏等待你去發現，如果你敢直面這片灼熱和將自己偽裝在巨怪殘骸之下的奇異生物。」
「小心繞過骨之森林的灼熱瀑布流」^[16]
William Pellen：「它位於世界的最低端，通過右側的深邃巢穴進入。你會在那裡通過擊敗追着你跑好幾個房間的巨大骨頭怪來獲得帝王之翼。而那裡的岩漿會直接殺死你（或許有一個護符可以避免即死？）……有着 50 個專屬敵人，令人心驚膽戰的音樂和每個角落的驚喜，它肯定會是整個遊戲最棒的地方。想象一下你在《空洞騎士》中最喜歡的區域，但它比這還要好上 100 倍。」^[17]
William Pellen：「……骨之森林就像是你必須要通過的一個迷宮之類的東西，繼續走，拿到能量上限，拿到二段跳，因為它原本就在那裡，繼續走，點亮火炬，打開門還有什麼的。它也曾經是最大的區域。」^[2]
骨之森林原本位於聖巢右上角（東北角落），在遊戲開發前期，它有三個獨立區域，每個區域有一個夢境 Boss，以遺忘十字路相連。最終 Boss 戰也設計在骨之森林內。
後來，骨之森林被移動到聖巢底部，很顯然Ari並不希望這樣一個滿是岩漿的區域出現在地圖上層。隨後深邃巢穴加入了地圖，用來連接骨之森林。不過骨之森林最後被古老盆地取代，它最初的位置讓給了水晶山峰。^[18]
由於骨之森林的面積過大，為了安排其他的區域，它最終從地圖上被刪去。
Ari Gibson：「我們從遊戲中刪去了一塊很大的區域，也就是骨之森林。它是遊戲後期進入的充滿岩漿的地方。把它刪去的時候我們也很猶豫，因為它真的看上去很棒！但這絕對是正確的選擇。William和我早就有其他一堆同樣的大區域要完善，如果留着骨之森林，其他地方可就慘了。」^[19]

深淵之湖

眾籌目標中包含深淵的高難度深度探險，帶有新的 4 個 Boss，玩家將潛入深淵之湖一覽深淵全貌。^[5]
Ari Gibson：「雖然我們真的很樂意去探索，但是深淵的拓展目標我們沒能達成。現在遊戲中呈現的只是深淵湖岸，拓展內容中玩家可以潛入深淵之湖，探索其中的扭曲詭異之地。」^[6]

其他

高等生靈雕像：在早期的試玩視頻中，格魯茲之母所在的房間內有蒼白之王和白色夫人的雕像。

「讚美（Glorify）」護符的能力原本計劃在尋神者內容包（當時的名稱為「諸神與榮耀」）中實裝。^[20]
William Pellen 曾經考慮過能讓小騎士受到一擊便死亡的左特護符，但最終沒有把它做進遊戲中。^[21]

p2右上角的草稿中畫的雜草叢生的野獸屍體可以在遊戲中見到。
正是這些非常粗糙的速寫草稿構建了整部遊戲的基礎。目前為止（文章發布日期為為2015年9月30日），Ari已經專門為《空洞騎士》用了3本速寫本。幾乎所有內容都被用進了遊戲中，只有極少部分沒有被採用。
這些速寫大多是在周四晚上，和一群當地藝術家在咖啡館中見面時完成的。它們就是在那些周末總結時誕生的。
